The solvent required to dissolve the marking is dispensed from a container onto the cable, distributed evenly by static brushes or sponges, and subsequently absorbed or wiped off by staggered pairs of narrow non-woven fabric strips.
These strips are wound up by a motor against the direction of travel of the cable. The continuous, infinitely variable feed of the non-woven strips ensures that the cable is always in contact with a clean strip.
The 90° staggered arrangement of the stripping strips and the pressure rollers, which can be adjusted to the cable diameter, ensure comprehensive and uniform treatment of the cable surface.
The fully enclosed system is accessible from the front via doors that open wide.
An exhaust duct fitted with an explosion-proof fan keeps the work area free of hazardous vapours.
Further explosion-protection measures, some of which are optional, complete the specification and ensure safe operation.
The standard version of the GEO ‘KFP’ system is designed for cable diameters ranging from 5 mm to a maximum of 25 mm.
The throughput rate and the consumption of cleaning media (non-woven fabric/solvent/brushes) depend on the cable material and the type of cable marking.
